The natural rubber abrasive cleaning stick have been sold by QuickWood for 25 years now. The product comes from the rubber tree in Malaysia where QuickWood harvest 20 tons of this natural rubber every year. The product is totally natural and when fiction heats up the rubber the rubber block will clean the abrasive by pulling out the wood dust from the sandpaper. Resulting in a clean reusable sandpaper. If you have never tried this process before you will be very surprised of how long you can keep cleaning and using your abrasives with the QuickWood Clean Stick.
QuickWood offers two different types of cleaning sticks. The smaller one 1.5" x 1.5" x 8" which you are buying in this listing.

The bigger abrasive cleaning stick from QuickWood made of natural rubber. The larger stick measures 2 x 2 x 12 and can be put flat on a wide belt sanding belt and clean the belt. The sticks are also used to clean the pneumatic drums to get extra use out of the abrasive. These stick last forever and I am sure that users of these sticks have been searching for them all around and know exactly what can be saved in abrasives by using these cleaning sticks.

This is single brush of the new twisted steel, it will fit any QuickWood product with the Hex shaft. If you want to put in on a hand held tool for your drill please be warned that this is heavy stuff and you might not want to fill out the whole spindle. I weight the 4" hub for a drill pin and its about 5.5 lbs all together. This is a very nice tool that diggs deep into the hard wood. Its heavy but it works fast.

This style flap wheel is most often used for aggressive sanding jobs on un-finished wood or reclaimed wood where a strong grit needs to be used for removal of imperfections. The advantages to the flap wheels are the ability to contour to any sharp or profile with out altering that sharp or profile. The grit 60 however will be able to alter profiles as its a very course grit.

This style flap wheel is mostly used for white wood sanding of mouldings and edges on big doors in a stack, the wheel size of 2" works well on mouldings and for un-finished edges. The grit will leave a linier sanding scratch as its a course grit, it will also clean up some knife marks and imperfections. This grit will alter profiles and edges if the operator is not careful in operating the head.

The p 100 grit can remove light knife marks on a moulding and break sharp edges on a profile before a finer grit is used and stain and sealer coat is applied. If you want to use this for sanding edges it will also work well for this job.

You can use this head with your own spindle or use it on a QuickWood spindle available on this website. Setting up a flap wheel on your own spindle remember recommended speeds are 300rpm to 800 rpm. If you can setup a speed control on the motor you are using via an Inverter this would be the best setup as you want to change the spindle speed from aggressive to fine sanding.

Works wells as a final sanding grit before stain or sealer. The p180 will leave a very fine sanding scratch that should not be visible after the top coat has been applied. Using the p180 as a primer sanding grit is also recommended as the primer normally need a little more abrasive grit when being sanded.

Mount in on your own spindle and the fine sand paper will clean up your sealer coat for a smooth finish when top coat is applied. This should be the second flap head that you buy for doing your sealer sanding. If you are doing a second sanding on primer this would also be a good grit to use.
