When should I use P180 instead of P150 or P220 orbital sander pads?
P180 is the final raw-wood pass before stain or sealer — fine enough for even color absorption, coarse enough for good adhesion. Step down to P150 for more aggressive smoothing on rougher stock, or step up to P220 for between-coat scuffing once a sealer is already on the surface.
