Metal deburring discs

12" deburring discs

The 12" disc is the standard consumable for machine deburring of laser-cut and machined metal parts: flexible abrasive discs that stack on the machine arbor, break sharp edges and blend dross without changing part dimensions the way a hard grinding wheel does. Sold by the box of 100 so a shop can build and rebuild stacks as rim wear shows.

Building the stack

Stack behavior is set by the 32mm and 50mm spacers: closer spacing presents more abrasive edge per revolution for aggressive burr and dross removal on straight edges, wider spacing lets the discs flex deeper for contoured parts and gentler, uniform edge-rounding — the radius powder coating needs to grip. Re-gapping a stack takes minutes, so many shops tune it per job.

12" or 14"?

Disc diameter follows the machine and the part: 12" suits most setups, while the 14" discs add rim speed and reach for larger parts. The full comparison of disc behavior against flap wheels — and why wood work belongs on flaps, metal edges on discs — is in the deburring guide.
