The 10" flap wheel
The 10" is a production wheel: mounted on a 3/4" bore spindle at the bench, its diameter delivers higher surface speed and broader contact than the 8", and it comes in both 28-slot and denser 44-slot hub versions — the 44-slot carries more strips per revolution, which means faster cutting and longer life between strip changes on repeat work.
Choosing grit and trim
Every grit P60–P320 fits as replacement strip sets, in 45mm standard or 65mm tall trim for deep profiles. For a dedicated bench station, many shops run one 10" wheel in a prep grit and keep a second hub loaded fine — the grit guide maps the sequence.
Up or down from 10"
The 12" wheel is the biggest in the range and the size the table sander runs at a fixed 900 rpm; the 8" trades some pace for easier handling. Mounting details are in mounted flap wheels.
