When to use P320 flap strips
P320 is the finest grit in the range: final-coat denibbing, thin waterborne finishes, and any pass where the goal is silk rather than stock removal. At this grit the wheel is barely cutting — it is refining, which is exactly what you want on the last coat before rub-out or delivery.
Where P320 belongs
Use P320 after P240 in a waterborne schedule, or as the only between-coats grit on very thin films where even P240 feels aggressive. It has no role on raw wood — below the sealer line, stop at P180. Light pressure is everything at this grit: the flap tips should whisper across the surface.
