Flap Wheel 12"x10"

The 12" flap wheel

The biggest wheel in the range and the production standard: the 12" runs on a 3/4" bore spindle and is the size the flap wheel table sander spins at a fixed 900 rpm — the speed where abrasive flaps cut cleanly on wood without burning. In the denser 44-slot hub version it carries the most strips per revolution of any wheel here, which is why high-volume shops standardize on it: faster cutting, longer intervals between strip changes.

Choosing grit and trim

All grits P60–P320 fit as replacement strip sets, 45mm standard or 65mm tall trim. A common bench setup keeps two or three dressed 12" wheels beside the station and swaps through the grit sequence rather than re-flapping mid-day — see the grit guide for sequencing.

Down from 12"

Where a 12" is more wheel than the parts need, the 10" and 8" keep the same spindle mounting in handier sizes. The full mounting breakdown is in mounted flap wheels.
