When to use P100 flap strips
P100 opens the smoothing range: the grit for taking raw hardwood from machined to stain-ready when the surface is already in fair shape, and the standard follow-up after a P60 or P80 stripping pass. On oak, maple and other hardwoods it levels coarser scratches without softening profile lines.
Before and after P100
P100 follows P80 naturally, and steps up to P120 or P150 for the final raw-wood pass. If the part is going under a dark stain, finishing the sequence at P150 keeps the surface open enough to take color evenly.
