Flap wheels for sanding

The 2" flap wheel

The smallest wheel in the range and the one for tight geometry: spindle turnings, small profiles, inside curves and detail work where a larger wheel cannot follow the shape. The 2" size runs two ways — drill-attached on a chuck shank in any hand drill, or on the single-hand pneumatic F3 air tool, which spins to 1,700 rpm at just 0.7 kg for all-day detail sanding on moldings.

Choosing grit and trim

Every grit from P60 to P320 fits the 2" hub as 28-strip replacement sets — match the grit to the stage using the grit guide, and pick 65mm tall trim over the 45mm standard when the profile runs deep. Because the hub is re-flappable, one 2" wheel covers stripping today and between-coats denibbing tomorrow.

When to size up

If the parts are cabinet doors, drawer fronts or anything with broad faces, the 4" wheel covers ground faster; the 2" earns its place on the work everything else is too big for. The full mounting breakdown is in mounted flap wheels.
